Midway through NaNoWriMo, I got a severe sinus infection that left me bedridden for days, and kicked my muse out of commission. Though I've had an itch to write since I started feeling better recently, my ideas lead to a spy story rather than my heartwarming yet violent monster mash. Under Visual Novels and Comics, you'll find a new concept I'm working on: Agent Orchid. This may be a change of plans, but it feels worth it. I'll be working on other projects at the same time though.
It's been months since I posted here, I know. It's already October, and I've been in and out of health problems galore! But even when life is a mess of confusing family issues and personal problems, I don't forget my love of writing. And, my friends, that's why this year I'll be working hard once again during November's National Novel Writing Month!
I didn't succeed in Camp this July, unfortunately. But I'm not giving up on AntiRade- though it's on a back burner right now, faaaar back because of all my ideas. But I'll be reusing a very old idea this year for NaNo- a story that sent my 14 year old self spiraling into insanity due to problems with computers as I learned the harshness that is a deadline and misbehaving software when you go back from a mac to a PC and then back and forth again. After writing Star of Satseiya as a short story for a creative writing class back then- writing what was 10 pages of text in a single day due to my school's mac eating everything I got done the night before at home on my PC thanks to it hating my USB key- is going to extend into a 30-day project in hopes of writing a crazily amazing novel. And I have high hopes for it too! I've updated to include a page for it in Short Stories and Novels. For now, it is just the usual information and a cover...But I'm pretty happy with that, at least. I have no idea what the following months will bring- but I look forward to finding out just where this story will take me. I've also posted a new poem based on the story. Because why not? I've spent the past few days doing nothing involving novels, but starting to sketch/flesh out a new comic/VN idea. Why? Because I hit a block on most projects...But found a detour along the way that I can use to get around it.
As I posted in a recent blog post, I am workng on a new comic. I've started doing some character development and even fleshed out a few good chapters (or I think it's more than one, might not be). I plan to post previews and such on a page for the comic before I finish even a chapter just to give an idea of it, but I plan to take my time actually publishing online until I feel I have a good flow and amount done. However, you don't have to wait too long for an update. I've posted a new poem on Poetry Page 2 entitled "Song of United Elements'. It's inspired by the new comic! If you have time, please take a look...And maybe leave some feedback on your way out? So, even though I have writers block for many projects, some projects are easier than others during the midst of falling into a headachy abyss. This has lead me to start working on a separate comic project I'd meant to start a long time ago and finally thought of how to do it.
You'll notice on the VN and Comic section that the list has been updated and reordered a bit. I plan on editing any pages in the section to fit the same format for the novels in Short Stories and Novels to keep put snippets, character info and all sorts of neat things all together for each one. One of the first to get that will be for my new project...Once ComiPo restarts. Snippets for comics will be shown as an image gallery using either single panel samples I'd posted over time on facebook or full pages I happen to have on my computer anyway. Hopefully, you'll enjoy them. And hopefully, this'll get my butt back in gear. :) Please keep an eye out for some neat new content!! So I'm in another trench with my writing. In the past couple days, I've written a whole hundred words of Camp stuff. Sure, it's a pretty nice paragraph- but it's sorta stifling my flow it seems. For some reason, I'm having a hard time getting past the "time to bring flowers to a graveyard" and going on to the "eep a wolf is in the graveyard"!
Of course, that's not the end of the world. I've been doing a lot of character and story development in other areas. I'm hoping that by doing that I can get a bit more comfy with various things. I also found out that ComiPo has two new premium collections that I had no idea about for a long while! My dad promised eventually I can get them. So, I'm plotting out how to use them while I wait, since there are plenty of times I've been wanting to have a more...husky guy in my comics. That'll be fun. Anyhow, so...I'm definitely at a block, and I've been fighting some bad vertigo for weeks now. Hopefully I can find a way to use it to my advantage. Like...Forcing it on a character instead? >:c I'll try to post some more stuff for you to read soon, guys, don't worry. Like...Grabbing another snippet or something from my novel until I can think of what to give you. Do you have a request for something you want me to write? Don't forget you can always comment or send me a message of an idea you want me to write about! I'll definitely post it for you!! |
